PCC Austin Farm Stand

The PCC Austin Farm Stand provides fresh produce to the Austin neighborhood. We grow our own produce on-site at the PCC Austin Farm. We partner closely with Chicago Botanic Garden's Windy City Harvest program to maintain the farm and grow produce. The PCC Austin Farm Stand is one of Chicago's Farmers Markets.

Benefits to the Austin Neighborhood

The limited access to fresh produce that makes up the Austin neighborhood’s food desert highlights the importance—and limits—of the health care efforts of PCC Austin Family Health Center. PCC wants to make healthy eating easier to do by providing access to produce conveniently within the community. The PCC Austin Farm Stand addresses whole health in these ways:

  • Providing access to affordable, local, and organically grown produce
  • Modeling urban agriculture and providing access to gardening space through an allotment program
  • Engaging the community in volunteer farming and educational workshops
