	The Birth Center at PCC is temporarily closed due to staffing issues. Waterbirth, doula care, and a hospital birth center option are available for patients seeking birth center care with our midwives. The Family Birthplace at West Suburban Medical Center is available for Midwifery patients at PCC. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The Birth Center at PCC offers a home-like facility where women give birth without medication. Patients receive prenatal care at PCC health centers but come to the Birth Center at PCC when labor begins. Birth center care includes attentive clinical support from certified nurse-midwives, access to a birthing tub, and frequent follow-up during the postpartum period. In order to be eligible to deliver in the Birth Center at PCC, patients must be cleared for care by the midwives. Patients must also discuss insurance and payment options with the billing department upon entrance into the birth center program.

ABOUT THE NEW FACILITY

The PCC Austin Family Health and Fitness Center is a new expansion project that will bring community health care and a lifestyle center to the West Side of Chicago. The new facility will combine primary and specialty care, mental health services, nutritional assistance, and fitness education programs in conjunction with the existing facilities on the PCC Austin campus.

Through developing this new community healthcare and lifestyle center, PCC aims to create a home supporting PCC’s mission in the hope of serving as a model in community healthcare across the country. In addition, we are utilizing technology to minimize the impact of COVID, and other airborne infectious diseases.
