Dr. Mayela Leal Chanchi graduated medical school with honors from the University of Zuilia in 2014. She completed a Pediatric Residency at Georgetown University in 2021. Dr. Leal Chanchi went on to complete two Fellowships at Harvard Medical School. The first that she completed in 2022 was in Primary Care Sports Medicine and the second in Sport Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, which she completed in 2023.

Dr. Chanchi presented several research projects and patient cases at the national Sports Medicine conferences, was a panel speaker for the National Hispanic Medical Association, and won an award at Georgetown for a research project that she conducted while in her Residency. Her personal interests including running, sailing and dancing. Dr. Leal Chanchi is fluent in Spanish and English.
