April 2, 2019—PCC Community Wellness Center recently opened its twelfth health clinic, PCC Parkside Family Health Center, expanding affordable health care access to more residents on Chicago’s West Side. The new clinic, located at 115 North Parkside Avenue in Austin, offers family health care, women’s health and prenatal care, pediatrics, behavioral health and substance use treatment, as well as referrals to dental care at nearby PCC sites. Like all of PCC’s clinics, PCC Parkside accepts all patients regardless of their ability to pay.

“PCC already has a strong presence in the Austin community and we see this new clinic as an opportunity to deepen our commitment to the residents of Austin,” said Robert J. Urso, president and CEO of PCC Community Wellness Center. “All of our other sites are operating near capacity, yet there are still so many people in need of care. We are grateful for this new opportunity to make high-quality health care available to anyone who needs it.”

The new facility currently employs two physicians, two advanced practice nurses, a registered nurse, a licensed clinical social worker, and other clinical and non-clinical support staff, with planned expansion over the next several months.

PCC Parkside’s Medical Director and Family Medicine provider, Chidinma Osineme, MD, returns to PCC after several years in Virginia, where she served as Associate Director of a Family Medicine Residency Program for a rural health clinic. After graduating from Howard University College of Medicine, Dr. Osineme completed her residency in Pennsylvania, then served as a fellow in PCC’s Maternal-Child Health Fellowship Program from 2011-2012.

Penny White, MD, PCC Parkside’s pediatrician, is also celebrating a homecoming at the new clinic. Dr. White joined PCC’s staff in 2018 and brought her practice to PCC Austin Family Health Center. Now she’s returning to her former clinic space on Parkside Avenue, but under PCC’s leadership.

PCC Parkside is accepting new patients. The health center is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PCC accepts major health plans, Medicaid, and Medicare. They also offer a sliding fee discount program based on family size and income to individuals who lack health insurance. Learn more by visiting www.pccwellness.org/parkside.
