June 10, 2019 — PCC Community Wellness Center announced Toni Bush, MPH, as their new Chief Operating Officer. With nearly 12 years of service to PCC, Bush has served in a variety of leadership roles throughout the organization, helping expand health care services across Chicago’s West Side and near west suburbs.

"Toni is uniquely qualified to step into this role as we move the organization forward and we are thrilled to have her join our senior leadership team,” said Robert J. Urso, President and CEO of PCC. “She brings with her not only an in depth understanding of PCC’s operations and years of professional health care experience, but also a deep and long-standing commitment to serving medically underserved populations.”

As Chief Operating Officer, Bush will be responsible for directing the day-to-day activities of the organization, implementing strategies to accommodate current and future organizational needs, and assisting in attaining established operational and financial goals.

"Toni has devoted most of her professional career to PCC and the communities we serve. We are grateful for all she has helped us achieve and look forward to her leadership in this capacity,” said Dr. Carolyn Fitzpatrick, Chairperson of PCC’s Board of Directors. “Toni’s various experiences across the organization have already made a remarkable impact and we are pleased to promote her.”

Bush first came to PCC in 2007 after receiving her Masters of Public Health from Northern Illinois University. Since then, she has supported PCC’s mission in a variety of roles, including Director of Development, Office Manager, and Clinic Administrator. Bush most recently served as the Regional Director of Clinical Operations, where she oversaw PCC Community Wellness Center at Steinmetz, a school-based community health center in Chicago’s Belmont-Cragin neighborhood, and directed PCC’s Employee Safety and Infection Control programs.

Bush’s interest in health care was first sparked when she was 16 and found herself navigating a challenging health care system as both a teenage parent and high school student at Proviso East High School in Maywood, Illinois. As a former Chicago Albert Schweitzer Fellow, Bush remains committed to empowering vulnerable and medically underserved populations and creating healthier communities. In October 2016, she was awarded the Ramona Lopez Community Health Center Employee Award from the Illinois Primary Health Care Association for her outstanding commitment to underserved medicine.
