Local physician Carolyn Fitzpatrick, M.D. named Chairperson of the Board of Directors for PCC Community Wellness Center

November 20, 2019—Dr. Carolyn Fitzpatrick was recently named Chairperson of the Board of Directors for PCC Community Wellness Center. PCC is a Federally Qualified Health Center with a network of 11 community health centers serving residents of Chicago’s West Side and west suburbs. available at PCC’s Chemical Dependency Clinic.

November 20, 2019Dr. Carolyn Fitzpatrick was recently named Chairperson of the Board of Directors for PCC Community Wellness Center. PCC is a Federally Qualified Health Center with a network of 11 community health centers serving residents of Chicago’s West Side and west suburbs.


Raised in Oak Park, Dr. Fitzpatrick has deep ties to the community and a comprehensive understanding of PCC’s history and services.


“I love that PCC offers a comprehensive approach to the health and wellness of our communities,” said Dr. Fitzpatrick. “Serving on PCC’s board of directors, I’ve been able to help the organization provide better care for patients. I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve in this leadership role and carry the organization into the future.”


Dr. Fitzpatrick has been a member of PCC’s Board of Directors since 2008 and previously served as the Vice-Chairperson of the Board and Chairperson of the Personnel/Nominating Committee.


Ron Austin, the outgoing board Chairperson, will remain a member at large.


“I am thrilled that Dr. Fitzpatrick will be taking over the position. She has been a dedicated board member for 10 years and as a practicing physician, her insight and knowledge of the health care landscape have been invaluable to our work,” said Austin. “I look forward to continuing to work alongside her and advancing PCC's mission in the years to come.”


Dr. Fitzpatrick earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Business Administration from Bradley University. She began her career at a pharmaceutical company before attending medical school at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Fitzpatrick is a graduate of the West Suburban Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program. After completion of residency training, she became the first fourth year Family Medicine Chief Resident at West Suburban. In July 2008, Dr. Fitzpatrick was appointed as Associate Program Director for the West Suburban Family Medicine Residency Program. In 2013, she became Medical Director of the Dr. A.L. Burdick Family Medicine Center where she maintains a patient panel.
