Since November 2015, PCC at Steinmetz has been caring for patients in a temporary space; however, the high school graciously provided 4,500 square feet for a permanent location. The renovations consisted of new flooring, lighting, plumbing, paint, and heating and cooling system. The facility includes patient waiting areas, five exam rooms, a group session room, offices, and restrooms. Students can conveniently access the school-based health center from inside the building. However, a separate entrance and parking lot allows for increased accessibility for the general community. As a result, students and community residents will be able to access the center during non-school hours.

PCC was awarded a generous federal grant for the health center’s operational expenses from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) in 2015. Renovations were made possible by a New Market Tax Credit Transaction.
