During the child’s dental visit, you will have an opportunity to ask the dentist any questions you may have about oral health. If you care for a baby or toddler, you may have questions about thumb sucking or when to expect changes from primary to permanent teeth. For an older child, you may want to learn about ways to prevent childhood caries, proper brushing and flossing techniques, dental sealants, and teaching children how to say no to tobacco.

One of PCC’s dentists, Dr. Ryan Tuscher, thoroughly enjoys educating her patients on oral health. “Dental disease remains the most common chronic childhood illness, which is surprising because it can be very preventable,” says Dr. Tuscher. “If we start early to help children develop good oral hygiene and dietary habits, then we are making efforts to prevent oral disease and setting up the foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles.”

Dr. Tuscher works alongside a new dentist, Dr. Manal Yasin. He is excited to be part of PCC’s dental team, helping families maintain healthy teeth and understand the importance of regular dental examinations.
